ABOUT VAA - ONLINE
VAA as known, is a compilation of divisions of Victims Assistance of America,
Inc. (VAA & VAA Retail), based in Washington DC and a local chapter in
Prospect, KY., with Project Management & Development assistance by
Virtual Isle Solutions.
VIS manages VAA's online operations, visual content and site development
for VAA. Visitors and victims alike, as well as affiliated agencies are
provided with up to date information, services, technology resources and
promotional opportunities. At any given time, there are numerous off-site,
volunteers assisting with the everyday traditional operations of VAA, while
VIS developers are creating and maintaining VAA & VAARetail content on
VAA servers.
Some divisions within VAA operate as a business within their non-profit
mission, to benefit the goals of advocacy for all victims of identity theft.
VAA accepts online sponsorships. VAA seeks to add a growing number of
alliances with technology companies, educational institutions and
community-based organizations.
This VAA Web Site has been made as accessible as possible and
BOBBY APPROVED as mandated by
SECTION 508 of ADA - Americans With Disabilities Act - signed into law
in 1990. Special care was taken to make each VAA Page text, graphic
and interactive application readable by the visually impaired,
who use specialized text screen readers. Due to the complexity of
some contained applications, this may not apply to every page within the
VAA domain. However, accessible contact forms and email addresses are readily available
to anyone who cannot access advanced features.

TECHNICAL TIPS
BROWSER VIEW
The VAA sites are best viewed with the latest version of
Internet Explorer but will
view almost identically in any other browser.
SCREEN SIZE
Most VAA sites are designed for screen resolutions of either 800x600 pixels
or 1024x768 pixels. On a 640x480 screen, the graphics and text will appear larger
but you will see less at one time without scrolling. On a 800x600 screen, you
should be able to see all of the main screens without scrolling. The sites will
resize according to what your resolution is set to. To change your screen
resolution, look for "Display Properties" or "Monitors & Sound" in your Control Panel.
FONT SIZE
The VAA sites are best viewed when your default font is set to "Medium" on
Internet Explorer or Times New Roman size 12 on Netscape Navigator. If your font
size is set significantly larger or smaller than these, you may experience some
visible distortion.
DOWNLOADS & PLUG-INS
The VAA sites may possibly utilize free downloads or plug-ins to enhance your
experience. Several of the most common plug-ins are listed below. Please note
that not all of our sites may require these plug-ins and that each of these
can be downloaded free of charge.
