Prospect, KY (February 18, 2003) - Victims Assistance of America, Inc (VAA) -- announces the “National Community Action Project!” This project has, as its goal, the placement of fake and stolen ID detection equipment in all airports, police cruisers, and places of business where goods and services can be obtained using fake or stolen identification. This is an updated message to all U.S. companies, individuals, grantmakers, foundations, government agencies and non-profit organizations. VAA announced on September 6th, 2002 that we would initiate a project to donate fake/stolen ID detection equipment to the nation1s airports. After viewing a broadcast on CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, which stated that nothing had changed since 9/11/01 by way of fake or stolen ID detection, VAA decided to step up to the plate. The broadcast stressed the fact that terrorists, criminals, and ID thefters can board U.S. planes and travel anywhere in the world as long as they use a fake or stolen ID. When the nation was then shocked at how easily two snipers could attack innocent citizens in the VA/DC/MD area of the U.S., VAA attempted to place fake ID detection equipment into law enforcement vehicles for use at roadblocks and other traffic stops. Because of this situation, and also because of VAA’s keen awareness of perpetrators all over the country who use our victim's IDs, we added the nation’s police cruisers to our National Airport Project and made this equipment available to you through VAA. As part of this national project we will urge Americans to buy this equipment for their businesses and help VAA in our attempt to flush out these identity thefters (who add criminal records and billions of dollars of bad debt to innocent citizens like you and me) in a very short time. Let’s help to clean up the nation’s economy by fighting ID Theft.. Please bring this announcement to the attention of your companies, your employers, your civic clubs, and the places where you live and shop, and ask them all to participate with VAA in this worthwhile project. If your company or foundation would like to purchase the equipment needed for your state’s airports or your state’s police cruisers (or both) we will name your company as that state’s sponsor and attach that company name to all machines sponsored in that state by you as a reminder to all that you supported this project in your state and for your police and/or airports. HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENTS, EMPLOYERS, EMPLOYMENT AGENCIES The #1 method of stealing an identity today is by having an insider (usually an employee) download the employee database or the client database to use or to sell to professional perpetrators of the crime. Because of this, VAA will be urging all human resource departments and employers across the country to purchase this equipment through VAA to actively help VAA flush out these people. Note: Two airports (one in NY and one in DC) checked their employees and found that 124 had secured their jobs by using a fake or stolen ID. Many of these bogus employees were hiding a criminal record attached to their true name. If we find 124 employees with fake IDs in two places of employment, just how many do you think we would we find all across the nation? The security of individuals and the security of the nation is at risk. VAA believes we must find the criminals and terrorists among us. And we need your help. LIQUOR STORES, GROCERY STORES, ALL BUSINESSES THAT CARD MINORS Using fake or stolen identification is against the law. We at VAA want to urge establishments who card people for age verification (the machines in this national project do age verification and a whole lot more) to join with us by purchasing equipment through VAA. When a card reads as a fake or stolen ID, call the police, help us make arrests. Please purchase this equipment (not just for age verification) through VAA and join with our “National Community Action Project!” Think of this: If you have only nine employees and you find just one who is hiding a criminal record, won’t you feel that the equipment has paid for itself? If you then can continue using the equipment for your day to day age verifications and you are able to also uncover several fake IDs, you are truly helping the nation at a time that the nation really needs you! MORTGAGE COMPANIES, ATTORNEYS, FINANCE DEPARTMENTS, PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANIES Identity thefters buy houses and cars in your name and mine. They rent apartments, order utilities and live off of our good name. They do this by the millions. Because of this we are urging closing attorneys, mortgage companies, AND finance departments of car dealerships to all purchase this equipment during this project through VAA and call the police when you detect a fake or stolen ID. Don’t do business with these people! Help us help the United States at a time that it’s very important to flush out these people. These perpetrators have reasons for using a fake or stolen ID and none of those reasons are good. Call in Law Enforcement and Have them arrested. JAILS, PRISONS, JUVENILE FACILITIES, ALL PLACES OF INCARCERATION We have a 15 year old victim who innocently went to get his driver’s permit only to find he had an eight year criminal record. Someone started using this child’s name and social every time they were thrown into jail or prison. They started when the victim was 7 YEARS OLD. Now this 15 year old has to go to court every time his name is on the docket to prove his innocence or else he’ll be in contempt of court. (It is his name you know.) What’s sad is that the perpetrator has no obligation to show up at all to shoulder his responsibilities. This low-life put that off on a 7 year old and the child’s still dealing with it 8 years later. They still have not caught his perpetrator because the jails and prisons also have no way of detecting a fake or a stolen ID. THIS CHILD IS AN 8 YEAR VICTIM and what does he have to look forward to if they have no way to identify his perpetrator? It makes no difference how good he is – he’s got a criminal record anyway! Do you want this for our nation’s infants and children? Please help us! We are urging all jails and prisons and any agency who deals in any way with criminals and felons to please purchase this equipment through VAA. Don’t let these people put criminal records on our family's good names and in our family's history. And please make them quit using our children’s names! She is now 21 and has seventy accounts with bad debt on her credit report and also a house! She can’t get a home of her own as she had saved and planned for. THIS CHILD IS A 17 YEAR VICTIM. It’s time for us to stand up as a nation and let these perpetrators of our Identity’s know that we're "mad as hell, and are not going to take this any more!" Identity thieves are invading our privacy, stomping on our rights, destroying our personal financial health, and stealing our children’s good name and credit before they even get started in life.
