ID THEFT VICTIM STORY
My wife and I noticed that a check totalling well over $1800 had been posted to our account. I went to the bank to point out the error. The bank teller printed out a copy of the check and I was shocked to see that someone had printed a check with all of my information including both mine and my wifes social security numbers. The check was obviously fake and the signature was a terrible imitation of mine. I closed that account right then and opened another after I had secured a new drivers license that the number is not my social security number. While at the Mississippi Drivers License office I asked if they could check and see if anyone had gotten a legal copy of my license. The officer told me that was not possible because of the thumbprint security requirement. Well just as I had expected, the department had issued a new and now legal copy of my license to this punk who is messing with our lives. I followed all recomended procedures, credit agencies, police report, social security etc. Today we sit here very nervous waiting to find out what other crimes are being commited using my name and my social security number.
